Dermalogica Microfoliant VS Indeed Exfoliator

Hi Lovelies,

Today is a comparison post between the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and the Indeed Powdered Exfoliator.

The Powdered Exfoliator is a new product in the Indeed Laboratories range that’s now available at Priceline and it’s currently on sale for $28.00.

I’ve been using the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant for years now and to see that Indeed Laboratories had brought out a very similar product was great!!

I’ve been seeing quite a few questions on social media with people asking if they’re similar products and if they work the same.

So let’s compare!!

RRP AU$71.00, 75g

What Dermalogica Says:

“This unique Rice-based enzyme powder microfoliates dulling debris and instantly leaves skin noticeably smoother and brighter. Contains no artificial fragrance or colour.Unique powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice enzymes that micro-exfoliate, leaving skin smoother and brighter.  Skin Brightening Complex of Aspergillus, Grapefruit and Licorice helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation. Super-soothing blend of Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal helps calm skin, leaving it extraordinarily clear and refreshed.”

Microcrystalline Cellulose, Talc, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Disodium Lauryl, Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Colloidal Oatmeal, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Allantoin, Papain, Salicylic Acid, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis, Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, PCA, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Cyclodextrin, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Limonene, Lauryl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Cross polymer, Methylparaben, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

What Indeed Say:

“Through a unique combination of brightening, soothing and plumping, including bamboo extract, rice bran powder, pineapple enzymes, okinawa red algae and hyaluronic acid, Facial Powdered Exfoliator works to remove dead skin cells, unclogs pores and promotes cell renewal as it cleanses. The result? An instantly glowing, refreshed complexion and skin that feels deeply clean and hydrated. What’s more, thanks to its long-term exfoliating properties, fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots are targeted right from the very first use!”

Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, Malic Acid, Sodium Carbonate, PEG-150, Zea Mays (Corn)Starch, Sorbitol, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Polyethylene, Phenoxyethanol, Silica, Alcohol, Menthol, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Cladosiphon Okamuranus Extract, Phyllostachys Heterocycla Stem Extract, Bromelain, Butylene Glycol, Water (Aqua/Eau), Dextrin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract

How They Both Work:

They are both a very finely milled powder that when adding water, foam up.

You are to then massage onto your wet face using circular motions for one minute.

Both can be used daily.

My Thoughts:

By comparing the two products I’d have to say that they work the same but I’d prefer the Indeed Labs Exfoliator for the following reasons:

1. It is half the price of the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.

2. The Indeed Labs Exfoliator doesn’t contain Parabens or Titanium Dioxide where the Dermaolgica one does.

3. They both work really well but I find that the Indeed Exfoliator leaves my skin feeling softer and plumper – most likely due to the hyaluronic acid component.

4. And lastly, it’s easily available at Priceline!!

I’ve been using the Indeed Exfoliator daily for the last week and I’ve seen a huge difference in the smoothness of my skin. It makes applying makeup much easier 🙂

And spoiler alert…. It may be featured in my upcoming Favourites Video 😉

Have you tried these products? If so, let me know your thoughts as well.

Have a great day!!

I’ve been wondering about whether or not these two were similar, they do sound like they do pretty much the same thing! It’s good to hear that the Indeed Labs worked out better, considering it’s much cheaper. I’ll have to check it out!

I adore the Microfoliant but given the Indeed Labs is a fraction of the price… hmm tough! I’m a big fan of Hydraluron so definitely will have to have a try of the exfoliator.. good to know it doesn’t contain parabens etc as well!
